Popular wrestling star Alberto del Rio and his wife Paige have set aside their personal differences as they combine to help Hurricane Harvey victims.
The fighters received a lot of bad press for their personal issues off the ring but they have been praised for putting aside their problems for the sake of the Hurricane Harvey.
The Mexican hubby and his British wrestler wife reportedly paid for rooms for victims of the hurricane. They provided funds so the victims could get places to stay away from the danger areas in San Antonio.
Real names: Jose Rodriguez and Saraya-Jade Bevis received a letter thanking them for their support during the crisis. The letter has drawn controversies online as many argue that the deed was publicity motivated.
The letter read:
“Words cannot express the feelings my husband and I have for your generosity and kindness that you have bestowed on us in our time of distress. Never in our 82 years of age have we encountered such an act of sharing.
“Our home will be livable soon as power and utilities are restored. AEP is telling us that the power will be back on by 10:00 pm on Friday night.”
Alberto published the letter online, adding: “Received a great letter today. Makes me feel really happy that we can help in any way when it came to #HurricaneHarvey god bless your family.”
His wife Paige also posted online letters they received. She is set to return to action after several setbacks. Her account was hacked with private pictures and videos released. She has also been injured so she could not compete. However, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is making a film of her and her wrestling family with the support of WWE.
